Hello,
What is the difference between CHAP and MD5-CHAP ?
It is the configuration under Controller general settings.
I'm trying to get rid of PAP, and I was also informed that CHAP itself already use MD5.
Is it any different here?
Thanks

CHAP is an authentication protocol that requires the authenticator and the authentication server to know the clear text shared secret. However the clear text secret isn't sent over the network. MD5 is a hashing algorithm that produces the hash of the shared secret and the result is a 128 bit encryption that is sent over the network. Before you use MD5, make sure your authentication server supports it.
