AP 3800 - cisco still support it, if you like to replace it, the next generation on is Cat 9K AP. but look at the requirement of WLC and supported verison.

The best option is to go for 9k series since its the most recent launch and will definitely have a longer eol. Also, you get the latest Wi-Fi-6 support also.

just check it and it is very expensive! actually 3600 or 3500 is ok enough, cannot understand why to make its eol so short

But I guess 3600 and 3500 are already EOS. If you are going to purchase new ones and on a budget and not planing on 3800's then go for 4800 or 2800.

Like @Leo Laohoo said - what is this "bug" you refer to?
Most bugs are in WLC software so would affect all AP models.
Some bug's are AP OS specific so would affect all those running COS (1800/2800/3800/9100) so changing the AP would not solve the problem.
There are a few bugs which are AP hardware specific so a different AP might not be affected but it comes down to the detail and of course the specific AP requirements and your budget.
Usually there are workarounds for bugs or fixes in later code versions or TAC can supply an esclation image with a fix when required.

The FN is talking about small set of those APs and not all of them. Cisco will replace them if they are effected as mentioned in the FN.

That's a Field Notice for a small batch of faulty 3800 APs manufactured in Dec 2017/Jan 2018.
The field notice includes the instructions for how to resolve the problem with TAC or get a replacement AP so just do that.
This was a one-off fault in manufacturing for a small number of APs 3 years ago and is no reason to "find its replacement".
If you were unlucky enough to receive one of those faulty units (you can check the serial number using the checker in the field notice) then simply follow the instructions to get it resolved!

I am not worried about that Field Notice.
Affected APs DO NOT have the chance to join the controller. It is a "fault" straight out from the box and not something WLC-related.
