Hi All!
I got one question. If we used a cisco aironet 3700series access point and there also a controller to manage it. the question is " when the controller failure occurred, can we access the internet via AP? what I think is that since the Aironet 3700series available two version both standalone and controller base, first, we have configured with controller base flex connected mode and then can we change the configure setting as standalone mode via console when the controller fail again? Thank you all for promptly reply!

Hi
Reading your post, you have a 3700 AP in flexconnect mode?
If yes the data traffic isn't impacted by a wlc failover as traffic is locally switched. If you are doing authentication centrally from wlc, you need to configure that AP are able to do authentication when they lost wlc connectivity.
To convert lwap to standalone it isn't a big deal. Take a look here : https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/57476/lwapp-autonomous-conversion-and-vice-versa-access-points

If the wlc fail and ap are in flexconnect there is nothing to do. It will works because you have already configured your vlans,.. for the flexconnect profile.
The only thing to configure is the radius authentication if needed when AP lose the wlc connectivity.

hi thank you for your answer. yes it is a flex connect mode, here I'm not clear with this, we have to configure the controller fail option since the initial configure. if we haven't configure that setting to change automatically when the controller fail occurred. will it be not possible to restart the AP and change the configuration?
