Which WLC interface should I direct an AP towards using Option 43

Hello,

Using DHCP option 43, which interface on the WLC should I direct the AP towards so that it can connect?

Service port or Managment port?

Also do I need to enable anything on the router interface to allow initial discovery traffic from the AP to reach the WLC, service port is in Vlan 10, Managment port is in Vlan 20, AP is in Vlan 30 and the router is doing inter vlan routing on sub interfaces.

Thanks in advance

as suggested you will use management port.

Since your router is set for intervlan routing, once AP learns about controller IP using option 43, it will send a unicast message to controller to join, just make sure you have licenses for AP and you have accepted end user license agreement on the controller.

-hope this helps-

License is good for 25 AP. I think I will have connectivity issues due to the software revision being quite old, but this is only for a CCNA home lab. I just want to make sure I have the foundations set up right before going further. Thanks for your time.
