WiFi hotsport - Wireless Access-point

I have an issue I'm working on with a wireless client. They are unable to connect to the 2602i wireless access-point using a PSK. But, when they turn there phone into a WiFi hotspot and apply the same SSID and PSK that is deployed for the 2602i to use they are able to connect to the phone SSID. Is there a difference between connecting to WIFI hotspot and access-point?

Hello,

Both works under IEEE 802.11 standard, so, from this point of view, there will be no difference. But, of course, the setup is a whole new story. Enable Wi-Fi hotspot in a smartphone is a one-step activity. This is meant to be easy after all, this is for everybody.

Cisco AP is not that simple. It is difficult to say where you are making mistake but that´s the probably cause.

When test the AP 2602i, did you manage to see the SSID being spread?
