Hello,
I have a problem with my router 861w and I don't know from where is this problem.
The situation is like this: I have attached a hard drive on one of the Ethernet port of the router and I'm accessing this hard drive thru my laptop which is wireless connected. The problem is that when I start to transfer larger files from the hard drive to my laptop and the speed gets more or less 4 Mb / s the wireless card reset's and never go up after that. I have to reset the router by unplug it from the power source and then to transfer again.
Please give me an advice how to solve this problem. I attached the configuration of the access point maybe is something wrong there.
Regards,
Mihail

Hello Mihail,
I'm wondering what version of code you are running on the AP module in the router? If it is still running 12.4(21a), we should probably consider an upgrade to the latest 12.4(25d) code, as there are several radio related fixes.
The command to upgrade the AP is:
archive download-sw /force /over tftp://
If you are still experiencing this problem on latest software, we will probably want to open a TAC case to find the root cause.

Thanks !
Until now .. everything is ok. Let's hope that the new firmware was the cause.
I will keep you updated in case something get's wrong again.
Have a pleasant day !

Hello again,
Unfortunately is doing the same thing, the interface restarts when the traffic get really high. There is any way to limit the bandwidth on the wireless interface , QoS or something ?
Thank you.

Mihail

Hi Mihail,
Alright, lets try to gather some information regarding the radio reset -- could you capture the following outputs after the problem happens from the AP module?
- show log
- show controller dot11radio0

Hi Mihail,
Looking at these outputs, the radio appears to be operational at the time you took the logs. In fact, the output indicates there are a few clients still connected.
Does this issue only impact the one client you are transferring with? If so, please make sure that client has up to date wireless drivers.
It might be time to open up a TAC case on this issue so we can investigate further.
