Check with below command what secure web config mode enable on your WLC
In my case, I am running 8.2.164.0 with below config & I can access WLC GUI using chrome
(WLC)>show network summary
Web Mode.................................... Disable
Secure Web Mode............................. Enable
Secure Web Mode Cipher-Option High.......... Disable
Secure Web Mode Cipher-Option SSLv2......... Disable
Secure Web Mode RC4 Cipher Preference....... Disable
Secure Web Mode SSL Protocol................ Disable

Our Chrome version is
Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit).
If its not same with you , Please upgrade and check again it working or not.

Hi Sujith,
You can disable HTTP access using below command
config network webmode disable
This command allows users to access the controller GUI using "http://ip-address." The default value is disabled. Web mode is not a secure connection.
You can do it via Management -> HTTP-HTTPS config page as well (see any certificate install under that page for webadmin purposes)
Regarding Chrome version, I think I had that version, but when I clicked it upgraded to below. No problem with any of those.
Version 68.0.3440.84 (Official Build) (64-bit)

You need to make sure if you install a 3rd party certificate that is not generated from a root CA that is new as that root CA might not be in the trusted root CA on guest devices. Ran into that once and the Cert company regenerated a new cert from an older Root CA.
You can always disable https for guest also and don’t worry about dealing with any cert.
