I am wondering about the actual data rates for an 1142 AP - If clients are c
onnected at N Rates and a B client assocaites to the AP do the Data Rates Drop as they did in older AP's?
What about the same scenerio with a G Client? Should I disable B Data Rates to protect the clients associated at G and N?
Thank you!

Depends on the client's wireless NIC. I've got some cheap HP laptop with Gemtek built-in wireless NIC and they're reporting 300Mbps but I've more expensive laptops with I-don't-know-what NICs inside and these won't go above 150Mbps.

I have asked the similar with our account team. The answer I got was B clients do not degrade N clients performance as much as they do for G clients. But it is always recommended to disable B rates to protect G clients.

I am actually looking for some more info - How do B clients affect G clients? I was under the impression that the ceiling
(data rates) did not drop as drastically as before with older AP's?
Any additional info would be helpful.
Thanks!
