Hi,

which version SW you are running ??

Normally its not a recommended solution to attach AP directly to WLC.

how you setup the directly connected AP!!!!!

Info: If you want to join AP(directly connected to WLC), then you need to setup a dhcp scope on the WLC and make sure that it must be on the same network as the WLC management. The AP will get an IP address from the pool and join the WLC as long as everything else is configured correctly.

Hi,

I am running version 8. APs are not directly connected . typo mistake ..APs are joined as clients , as usual.

I  haven't enable ipv6 and multicast inmy WLC . But I can see in error logs that   " Received ipv6 capwap multicast packet source: (fe80::5217:ffff:fe27:1760) destination: (::) whencapwap multicast mode is multicast with unconfigured ipv6 address "  .

I am bit confused , why this erro coming eventhouh I have not enable IPV6 and multicast. Also CAPWAP supports only IPV4  .

In the Controller -->  Interfaces  I can see some  additional features other than normal as

IPv6 Address
Prefix Length
IPv6 Gateway
Link Local IPv6 Address

Normally It is

                   Vlan identifier

                  IP address

                 Netmask

                   Gateway

But how this extra fields IPv6 address  etc .. comes here since ipv6 is disabled.

I am a bit confused here in this GUI thing ..since configuration has not done by me and I don't know who did that. My duty is just troubleshooting and to fix error .

Hi,

In my cisco 2500 WLC I have disabled ipv6 , but I can see link local ipv6 address in my interface . How might it come automatically ?

Is it alright if I  disable link local ipv6 address .  If then how can I disable that .

Hi ..

The issue is getting worse ..

Does anybody have any idea about possible causes..since APs are frequently going down and  in message log I can see this message .

Received ipv6 capwap multicast packet source: (ipv6 address) destination: (::) whencapwap multicast mode is multicast with

unconfigured ipv6 address.
