Hello

I configured the local profiling on my WLC 2504 (OS 8.2.121.0)  based on 2 VLANs 1 for the laptop workstation and the other is for android and iPhone but the output can be classified only on the windows workstation my other Vlan which is I configured to iPhone and Android the output is Unclassified.  your help is highly appreciated.

I see only one profile on this output, which is "pro_test"

You need to make sure that "DHCP Addr. Assignment " is enable on the profiling.

Here is a guide that provides you all the details about profiling.

Hi Flavio,

Thanks for your quick reply.

The pro_test is the description of the SSID ptest. DHCP is already enabled in the local

Correct.

If you are using AP group, did you go to the WLAN you created. (inside de AP group) hover the mouse on the blue triangle  and selected Policy map?

This document is old but will help you understand local profiling.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/7-5/NativeProfiling75.html

The device profiles are hard-coded in the AireOS release.  There is very limited scope for update.

Generally you must update to new AireOS to get the latest device profiles (or use ISE profiling).

You are running very old version of AireOS (8.2.121.0) probably released long before those mobile devices which is why they are unidentified.

You could create your own mapping profile (xml file) for upload to WLC but as per an answer I received from TAC some time ago: "Allow me to comment that this is an old feature and not very used nowadays as it is recommended to use AAA server for access policies."  In other words don't be surprised if you have problems trying to do this because the recommended way now is with ISE.

If you want more up to date local profiles then you'll have to upgrade to 8.5.182.0 (presuming that supports your APs).
