I have a WLC5508 controller with LAP1142N, LAP1262N, CAP3602I, CAP3502E and CAP3501I APs. It seems when a site loses power or connectivity to the controller, some of the APs reconnect and some do not. At some sites all do and at some sites some do and at some sites none do. The issue is really puzzling to me. Any ideas?
*All sites use 29XX routers, 3560X POE switches and are connected via MPLS.

You need to provide more info than that.
If you can console into the AP in question and post the output to the following commands:
1. sh version;
2. sh ip int brief; and
3. sh logs
Post the output to the following commands from the WLC:
1. sh sysinfo; and
2. sh time
The WLC in question, is it housed locally or is it located in a central location?

Hello,
Try assigning static ip and before you power off the AP, check to see if your controller sees them (are they in same subnet?)

Hi,
please check the access mode of each access-point from its CLI and add your access-point in WLC like below.
Under Add AP to Authorization List enter the MAC Address of the Access Point in the MAC Address text box.
