WLC 5508 HA - Different buildings

Hi all,

Pretty simple question. I have several WLC's in HA mode and they work great. The problem I have is that they have to be directly connected via the redundancy port which makes it difficult to place them in a different building.

So, the question is, is it possible to have two 5508 WLCs in HA mode without using the redundancy ports? I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if anyone else has had any success with this?

Hi

I guess you're using the latest firmware or at least minimum 7.6.

If yes, the redundancy port doesn't need to be connected directly. You can use a Layer2 and extend it to your 2nd DC.
