WLC 5508 Smartnet

When contracting an SMARTNET for a WLC, do we have to consider the actual number of AP's or the maximun?

For example, a WLC-5508-50-K9 can handle up to 50 AP's, but at the moment there is only 24 AP's in the network.

Which SMARTNET do I need? CON-SNT-CT0850 or CON-SNT-CT0825?

The smartnet covers the WLC so if you have one that supports up to 100 APs, you get the smartnet for 100 APs even if you are using eg. 5 APs. With that in mind, you will need to go for the 50 one.

As long as this example is concerned, you can use any of those.

But if you are planning to add more APs in future and they don't exceed 50APs, go for CON-SNT-CT0850.
