WLC 5520, flexconnect mode, WLAN interface

Hello,

We have 3 central WLCs, in flexconnect more for APs.

2 of them have management interface defined for every WLANs (in AP groups), I think it's the best practice for the flexconnect configuration.

One of them have other interfaces than management defined for WLANs, however the VLANs are correctly configured on flexconnect group config.

it seems it's working correctly for the 3rd one, but I think that's not proper, I assume as soon you have defined flexconnect on AP config, it will bypass the interface config in WLAN ?

Using Management Interface for any WLAN is not recommended by Cisco.

You can configure a dummy interface, doesn't need to be routable just need an IP address and then assign that to the WLAN. This shouldn't be having any impact on the traffic flow.

That's true also for flexconnect mode ? Our WLCs are configured with
flexconnect Local switching mode, and with management interface for all our
WLANs. I always thought it is how we need to configure WLAN interfaces for
flexconnect Local switchibg mode..

Hi Chem,

It is valid for all the AP modes. As I mentioned before you can create a dummy interface and use it to associate it to the WLAN.
