Hi,

Just for curiosity, did someone had some DHCP issues with HTC 8X Windows Phone?

We have a customer that has a HTC Windows Phone 8X that was working for some time without any issues. After a while the HTC stop working.

We've found that the phone wasn't getting the DHCP addresses even though, on the DHCP server (an Cisco ASA) we saw DHCPOFFERs:

DHCPD: DHCPDISCOVER received from client 01bc.cfcc.0ae4.14 on interface guest.

DHCPD: send ping pkt to 192.168.199.115

DHCPD: ping got no response for ip: 192.168.199.115

Even after several soft resets the HTC was still not getting any DHCP leased address and since the HTC 8X doesn't allow to configure static IP address the sollution was to give the HTC an hard reset.

After the hard reset, the HTC started to work perfectly... DHCP lease, ok network access, ok

Anyone crossed with this issue with HTC phones?

Cheers,

Vasco

Hi Vasco,

From what you have told, this looks like a bug at the HTC end.

Get me the model number and the exact s/w version.

And get us the following debugs: ( when the problem occurs).

1) debug client

2) debug dhcp messages enable
