WLC 9800 17.6.x code will it work with AIR-CAP2702I-B-K9

running the 17.3.3 code now.

From what I can tell, upgrading to 17.6.x code it will not work with IOS based AP's according to the tech notes.

We are currently using AIR-CAP2702I-B-K9 on the WLC now.  Do these fall into the "IOS based" category.? I don't see any link to supported hardware in the release notes? If link exists, please post.

Thanks

found it. Seems the AP  2800's are supported the 2700 are not.

When comparing code vs hardware I find the compatibility matrix a really good reference, so I don't have to read 10 different release notes to find this info

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html

So the 2700 series is not supported by 17.6.x

17.3.x is the last train to support the x700 series APs, and it has been announced EOL with only from memory 3 more maintenance releases scheduled, so you should plan to refresh any 2700s you have

Yes and no.

Officially, 2700/3700 are not supported past 17.3.X -- Last firmware support is 17.3.X.

However, if the client is a very, very big account, speak to the Cisco AM/SE/PSS for wireless and ask them to raise a request for a 17.6.X AP Device Pack that can support 2700/3700.
