WLC CT3504 roaming threshold limit

Hello

There is a site where a wireless environment was built with CT3504 (users are factory equipment).

All AP power levels are at their maximum (it is said to be difficult to lower because the strength at which the client receives signals is not strong).

The current implementation is to prevent roaming until it reaches the set dbm.

Currently, the Scan Threshold value of the photo has been adjusted.

In addition, I would like to ask you to simply check the setting method for additional actions.

Thank you.

It sounds like the density of the access points are pretty sparse if the aps TX power level is high (1). If the signal is not strong, maybe it is due to the sparse deployment or the access points are placed too high. 20’-25’ is probably the max height you want to go with any AP’s that have internal antennas.
Keep in mind that roaming is done on the client device. Features to change this or any other behavior to improve clients roaming doesn’t always work if the client device doesn’t support that feature or is set to roam from its specified dbm. If you are directly below the ap and the signal is weak, then the install is wrong and it will be hard to fix that without adding AP’s, adding external antennas, or moving access points around.
