WLC5508 AP's not checking in - License issue?

I have verified via - Management - Licenses - base-ap-count permanent No Expiry 25 Medium In use

We have 17 AP's.

We needed to reboot the switch and when it came back online we observed 9 AP's were missing from the Wireless list. We had this same issue about a year or so ago - I believe I found a Google hit then - that mentioned a license issue once AP's are over 10 yrs old. Our temporary fix was to change the date on the switch back a year or two. We did the same thing yesterday and our AP's started checking in. So, my question, since the switch appears to not have an expire for AP's do the individual AP's nevertheless have an expiring internal license - I don't quite understand the license model.

I assume the permanent fix is to purchase licenses for the individual AP's that failed to logon? Or do I have an entirely different cause for those select AP's not checking in?

Thanks,

Milty

I'm not sure what APs you are running,  try logging into the WLC via SSH and type in this command

config ap cert-expiry-ignore mic enable

My AP's AIR-LAP1141N-A-K9

I tried executing your offered command - those parameters don't exist. Here's a ? at config prompt for AP:

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= PuTTY log 2020.02.27 08:18:38 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
