WLC9800 Configuration for AP Join Issue

Hello Engineers,

I have WLC9800 CL(IOS: 17.3.4) and start to configure with Cisco AP2802 and I am having a AP joining issue.

Here's what I checked:

   - Compatibility Matrix : Checked (Compatible)

   - Recognition (sh cdp nei) : Checked (WLC recognize AP as a neighbor)

   - Subnet : AP & WLC is on same subnet 

   - AP CAPWAP Status: Request sent (CAPWAP discovery)

   - WLC Status: Didn't get CAPWAP requests.

From WLC9800 Web GUI, nothing I can see from AP join statistics. 

Did I miss something?

Do you have Option 43 configured on DHCP to discover WLC

can you post full AP logs to understand

If it’s in same subnet then WLC discovery can be done over broadcast. Can you share the AP console logs when trying to join and WLC capwap debugs ?

I am assuming WLC is licensed properly and a trust point for Wireless management is configured (show wireless management trustpoint) ?

Console into the AP and post the output to the following commands:

1. sh version
2. sh capwap client rcb

 - Have some extended checks on the 9800 configuration with (CLI/SSH )-command : show tech wireless , have the output processed by https://cway.cisco.com/tools/WirelessAnalyzer/

Thank you everyone, following your comments, I have checked all of steps (Trustpoint, DHCP option) again

and my AP joined to WLC after I configured wireless management interface.

I appreciate your help.
