Hi professionals,
When I need to troubleshoot wireless quality at some point, I'm trying to check channel overlapping status as well using 'NetSpot'.
I have 9 SSIDs on purpose, and 2 of them is hidden SSID. (not broadcasting)
However, after I applying WLC from 2504 to 9800, Netspot no longer gives me correct information.
For example, when I am connecting to none-broadcasting SSID, Netspot shows me I'm connecting different SSID which is one of broadcasted SSID.
For example,
- Broadcasted SSID: Company
- Hidden SSID: Mobile
Green color from the Netspot means what I'm connected.
Since I am connecting 'SSID: Mobile', [Hidden SSID] column should be green.
However Netspot gives me I'm on Mobile which is incorrect.
When I search the Cisco document (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/17-2/config-guide/b_wl_17_2_cg/bssid_counters.html), I might need to enable bssid-stats to get accurate information.
However, When I'm trying to enable this features, I'm getting this:
% node-1:dbm:wireless:BSSID Statistics and Traffic Distribution Statistics are exclusive of each other and cannot be enabled together. Please disable one of these statistics to enable the other.
What is 'Traffic Distribution Statistics'? and What will happen if I disable this?
Before I change configuration, I would like to make sure and expect my consequences..
Appreciate your comments.

- 'Traffic Distribution Statistics' are needed (configuring) when Catalyst Center (formerly DNAC) is used together with Assurance to provide various statistics on clients and wireless network performance , so if you don't have those its safe to disable it,

What is netspot? (looks like a survey tool from quick search)
How does netspot work out what SSID you are connected to?
Are you assuming the BSSID (the MAC address of each SSID on each AP) of the SSIDs will remain the same on 2504 and 9800? It's entirely possible that the BSSIDs of the SSID will be different when you move between 2504 and 9800 so if you are using a static BSSID-SSID mapping to work out which SSID you connect to that might be why netspot is showing you the wrong SSID name. I can't see any way that changing the WLC config could affect what your tool is reporting. The features you're talking about changing are telemetry features - they are used for reporting data to a management system - nothing to do with client connections to the AP and SSIDs.
