Working with WLC boot images

Hello All,

I have a situation, request your expertise help.

I am upgrading my WLC firmware to 8.5.135.0 but before choosing this image I choose 8.3.143.0 release and uploaded to my WLC.

Now I try to import new firmware I can see that my primary image (8.2.166) is not seen in the the config boot, but I understand it is still alive in WLC Flash.

Can any one suggest me how to get rid of 8.3.143.0 image from the WLC flash, I see that show flash command and dir flash do not work in WLC.

I wish to see Primary image as 8.5.135.0 and backup as 8.2.166.0.

Your earliest reply will really appreciated.

Regards

Sharath

Hello

8.5.135.0 is my primary & 8.3.143.0 is secondary image after upload.

Force the WLC to boot the second image.
Upgrade the the firmware and reboot.
The WLC will boot that image and erase the old image.

Hi,

Information:

When uploading a code to the WLC, the new image will become the primary and the existing image moves to the backup. So what you can do if you want to keep a specific image after you have downloaded a code and it has been replaced, is to upload the image that you want as a backup to the WLC. Of course you need to reboot the WLC after each upload. If you want to change the defaul boot image, after you upload the image, you can then go to the config boot and choose your primary image to boot from.
