Hi All

Happy Holidays

Question :

We have a ASR9006 with a A9K-RPS-4G running a ios-xr ver 4.2.1 P style OS.

due to a bug we have encountered we are upgrading to ver 5.1.3 which are PX pies.

We would like to know if the RSP-4G card can run IOS-XR 5.1.3 ?

Sure can! no problem with that.

probably will want to repart the disk0/1 to reclaim some extra space (300M) per disk.

(run repart -d from exec CLI).

Only downside of the upgrade is that downgrading back to pre 43 images (where there was the p/px separation) is not that easy. But you don't want to go back anyways, so no biggy I'd think...

cheers!

Thanks for the Comment , gives us a little more of a warm and fuzzy

Xander,

Hi.

Actually, reading this, is exactly what I need to do.  Downgrade to 4.0.x(p) from 5.1.x(px).  The install activate fails because of the PX platform.  Any ideas on how to return this back to the P platform.

Thanks.

Chris.

I would probably first need to strongly discourage going back to 40x as that release is now end of life.

however if you have to downgrade, and if you install committed the 51x sw, then the only way to downgrade back would be a turboboot down to 40x.

(got a support forums articule on the turboboot procedure if you need it?)

cheers!
