Hi there,
I am confused about ASR9K ethernet Line Card ,there are different generation Line Card ,like Typhoon-Based and Tomahawk-Based. Are there working together in the same chassis?
For example below,
Is there possible to implement the Line Card "A9K-MOD200" on ASR9010 ,that were RSP440 and others Line Card "A9K-MOD80" & "A9K-MOD160" ?
Thanks

Hi Chien-Ying Li,
Short answer is: Yes.
Detailed reasons below:
Trident LC are also known as Ethernet line cards.
Typhoon LC are also known as Enhanced Ethernet line cards.
Tomahawk LC are also known as high-density Ethernet line cards.
-Support for Trident is officially covered until 5.3.4 release.
-Support for Typhoon is still ongoing and EOL has been announced (refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/eos-eol-notice-c51-740753.pdf).
-Support for Tomahawk is still ongoing and EOS has not been announced in a particular release, yet. Initial support is covered in 5.3.0 (for LAN only) and OTN in 5.3.1.
Note that if you have RSP440, ASR9K will not achieve full capacity. Recommended is RSP880 for Tomahawk.
For a more detailed description on the ASR9K LCs, please refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/116726-qanda-product-00.html.

Hi Elvin,
Thanks for your response before.
I want to check if ASR 9K with dual RSP 440 ,that can provide 440 Gbps/slot switch fabric.
Cisco ASR 9000 Series Route Switch Processor 440 Data Sheet (refer to
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/datasheet-c78-674143.html
And THIS ASK 9K with Line Card "A9K-MOD200/400" ,whatever modular port adapters(MPA) is A9K-MPA-2X100GE or A9K-A9K-MPA-20X10GE.
There is no any capacity issue , because Dual RSP440 total can handle "A9K-MOD200/400" .
Please correct me if there are any mistakes.
Thanks.
