When would this FAN be required for a 9006 system? I see PEM-V3 on Cisco site but nothing on the V3 Fan. Anyone have any links or input? Greatly appreciated!
We are currently testing the RSP-5 we got on loaner. We have used Classic 32 bit only and we're struggling with this x64 architecture. We received a unit with 6.5.2 and every upgrade had failed the last 6 days. We finally got it up to 6.5.3 - upgrade just started working for some reason. Our goal is to get it to 7.1.1 ultimately and run all 100G and 400G in the future. Not sure if V3 FAN will be required when running 400G but I can't find any info on this fan on Cisco site at all. Only reason I asked, one of my colleagues mentioned that there was a V3 fan.

Doing upgrades by putting a new image on the flash, changing the boot pointer and reload was and is still the walhalla of Cisco based devices.
