It "disappears" because the MPA goes down due to the errors.  If you are getting the same in both slot 0 and slot 1, then we probablly need to replace that MPA.

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi,

Can you try the MPA in slot 1?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Samuel,

Thanks! We'll try.

Samuel, we have tried the MPA in slot 1. We see the same issue.

There was a bug that was similar to this.  It was an FPD fix.  Can you get the output of:

show hw-module fpd location all

If you see any that say "yes" in the last column, you will need to upgrade the FPDs.

For the procedure on that:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r4.0/system_management/configuration/guide/b_yc40asr9k_chapter_0111.html

Just please don't use the "force" keyword.

thanks,

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Ok, thx, we'll check "show hw-module fpd location all" and I'll post the results.

Bryan,

We checked the "show hw-module fpd location all" and there is no "yes" in the last column.

Bryan,
New update.

At some time we "Yes", but then it dissapeared from outputs. I think we will try to upgrade.

I had same issues with asr9001 and MPA-20x1G.

Try not screw so tight card to chassis.

Use 70% of screw.

This help me in few cases

In my opinion this is problem with 9001 chassis, because I had never seen this on 9006 and 9010.

Hi Bryan,

May i know why you are saying not to use force ? its not relevant to this scenario while we were upgrading 9006 RS440 we have noticed eventhough successfully FPD upgraded still it was showing old FPGA1 value. When i use force keyword it showed corrupted after the reload . But after OIR it was corrected.  Is there any issue related to issuing upgrade with force keyword ?

Gobinath.

Gobinath,

You really don't want to use force unless directed by support teams.  The reason is that force doesn't do any checking and if the FPD image is corrupted or the wrong one it will still get copied.  This can cause the card to not be recoverable.  Or at least not without more intrusive steps.

Hi all,

We tried to upgrade FPD, but since the module disappears upgrade was failed. We tried not so tight card to chassis. Nothing help.

As a result we replaced the module and now it works fine.

Thanks all!

Glad to hear you got it resolved!

Bryan
