[asr9k] multiple ipv4 virtual addresses for mgmt intfs

Carlos A. Silva

Hi,

Is it possible to configure more than one "ipv4 virtual addresses" in an ASR9k. The goal is to have, for example, mgmt0-intf in both RSPs be in IP prefix A and both mgmt1-intfs in IP prefix B.

If yes, can you point to a doc that explains how to configure this?

Thanks!

c.

There can be only one virtual IP address. The 2nd MgmtEth interface is 'going away' anyway in 64-bit IOS XR.

In 64-bit IOS XR the first MgmtEth interface is connected to the XR VM, while the second MgmtEth interface is connected to the Admin VM.

If you tell us what functionality are you trying to achieve, maybe we can recommend an alternative.

Pretty sure what customer wants is to have MGMT0 (of each RSP) connected to Switch1 in SubnetA and MGMT1 to Switch2 in SubnetB. In that case it make sense to hit just one IP Address from each subnet. That's basically it.

Thanks, Aleksandar.
