BFD authentication not supported on Cisco ASR 9000?

From the current document and initial check, the ASR 9000 / IOS XR does not seem to support BFD authentication. I found one old note from couple of years ago stating that BFD authentication is not supported on ASR 9000, and the no release note mentioning this is supported/improvement in recent years,. So my guess is, no support of BFD authentication on ASR 9000. (Anyway, IOS XR requires BFD to be bound to a routing protocol, which supports authentication).

Could anyone confirm this is the case? Thanks!

That's correct. We don't support authentication in BFD, for the very reasons you mentioned.
