Hi,
My question is regarding the Radius AVpair client-mac-address that is sent to a Radius server as part of the authentication process and accounting. Let me clarify first that we are NOT using the mac-address as part of the username at all. The username is constructed using different attributes.
During authentication or accounting the BNG sends Radius a number of attributes, including:
RADIUS: Cisco AVpair [1] 35 client-mac-address=aaaa.bbbb.cccc
(that is an extract of an accounting request).
As you can see, the mac-address format uses "." as separator.
We would like to change that mac-address format to a ":" separator that makes the mac-address look like this, for example:
aa:aa:bb:bb:cc:cc
Is this supported?
We're aware of that format being available when customizing the username that BNG is going to send to Radius, but in our case we're not using the mac-address as part of the username at all.
So, can we customize the client-mac-address AVP that BNG sends as part any regular accounting request?
Thanks!
c.
