Good day Everyone!
Currently my customer wants to do clustering active-active on 2 chassis of ASR9001 (IOS XR 6.1.3), at first i found that nV Edge System is suitable for their needs but turns out this technology is already discontinued after IOS XR 5.3.x
So i managed to open case to Cisco Virtual Engineering to find out, they said that it is recommended to migrate to BNG Geo-Redudancy, but i can't find specific document about the prerequisite of this technology
i.e : nV Edge System prerequisites :
Can you guys show me what is the prerequisites for BNG Geo-Redudancy? to be honest, this new kinda thing for me :(
Very appreciate for your help! :)
Cheers,
Bani

Hi Bani,
These are the software license PIDs for BNG:
• S-A9K-BNG-LIC-8K —for non-geo redundancy sessions
• S-A9K-BNG-ADV-8K —for geo redundancy sessions
Please refer (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r6-1/bng/configuration/guide/b-bng-cg-asr9k-61x.pdf) for more details.

Geo redundancy is a powerful new technology for XR BNG that allows for session synchronization between 2 nodes. This means that a session active on one node has a shadow and fully programmed session on a standby node, so that when the active chassis fails, the standby BNG can take over and continue to forward the session info WITHOUT service interruption to the user.
Geo redundancy overcomes some of the restrictions that other redundancy models have which makes it a solution that is very compelling.
