Hi, I have some doubts about packages for the ASR9000 platform

For packages designed for Cisco ASR 9000 Series Routers, the platform designation is "asr9k."

  • How can I activate the asr9k-diags-5.1.3 package? I tried downloading the file ASR9K-iosxr-px-5.1.3.tar from Cisco, and the content is:

$ tar tf ASR9K-iosxr-px-5.1.3.tar
asr9k-optic-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-doc-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-asr9000v-nV-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-bng-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-fpd-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-mpls-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-video-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-services-infra-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-mcast-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-mgbl-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-asr903-nV-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-services-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-mini-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-li-px.pie-5.1.3
asr9k-asr901-nV-px.pie-5.1.3
README-ASR9K-PX-5.1.3.txt

where is o where should be asr9k-diags-px.pie.5.1.3?

  • Final question, what does supp means in the some packages name, for instance in asr9k-optics-supp-5.1.3.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

We use iosxr for Platform Independent (PI) code and the platform name such as asr9k for Platform Dependent (PD) code. Part of the BNG code is independent of the platform (even though BNG is only on the 9K) and some of BNGs code is specific to the ASR9K hardware.

Diags is part of the mini package, the mini package contains several other packages such as forwarding and diags.

I believe supp means support, the optics package is for DWDM optics support.

Thanks,

Sam
