Hello,
has anyone tried to downgrade a ASR901 via Cisco configuration engine? Have you encounter any issues?
Any comments are appreciated.
Best regards,
Marcos

hi marcos,
although the platform is called ASR and its number is close to the XR ASR9001, it is a substantially different platform running IOS.
I did some checks on this and this should operate just fine. One of the common things that generally goes wrong with the automated updates is authentication errors that prevent files from being transferred. Veifying if the IOS made it to the flash is the first verification I would do and if not, that is likely an auth or transfer issue. If the file made it to flash but is not booting it may be a boot parameter issue.
Any case there are different decision trees for each of the steps involved.
At any case to answer your question directly, I am not aware of any issues, so this should work just fine, but we need to do some debugging in order to identify the reasons for this failing.
May be best to have a tac case for that for some dedicated troubleshooting.
cheers

Hi Xander,
Thanks for your repply.
I'm getting an authentication error, yes, but not in the automated updates.
I already have a case opened with TAC. Let's see what they say.
Cheers,
Marcos
