enable SFP transmit light on a NCS-5501-SE

Hello, i've got a port that is admin-down and i want to install an optic and enable transmit light. I've tried the commands below and i've got no light on the SFP.

#config

(config)#controller optics 0/0/0/0

(config-Optics)#shut

(config-Optics)#dwdm-carrier 50GHz-grid frequency 19250

(config-Optics)#commit

(config-Optics)#no shutdown

(config-Optics)#commit

(config-Optics)#end

how is the other side connected ?

Thanks for your response BB. The other side is connected to a light meter to check for continuity on the fiber.

I figured it out, once i set the speed, the optic turned on. Thanks for you help!

port-mode speed

To configure the port mode, use the port-mode speed command in optics controller configuration mode.
