Hi there ,
I am pretty new in XR IOS , and having a doubt in L2MPLS configurations.
: in XR IOS , we need to provide "rewrite ingress tag pop 1/2 symm "commands to pop out the tags . But in Cisco IOS l2MPLS configurations we dont need to pop out the tags. Any specific reasons for this .
Kindly correct me if m wrong.
Best Regards,
Ram

If you use subinterfaces for the l2vpn you should use the rewrite ingress command. If not then you should not. The concept is same as in IOS.

Hi Ragu,
Are we talking about EoMPLS? This should be the same as in regular IOS, if you are stripping the VLANs you should use rewrite, if you're not or only sending the ethernet frame there's no need for it.

Preferred tunnel path functionality lets you map pseudowires to specific traffic-engineering tunnels. Attachment circuits are cross-connected to specific MPLS traffic engineering tunnel interfaces instead of remote PE router IP addresses (reachable using IGP or LDP). Using preferred tunnel path, it is always assumed that the traffic engineering tunnel that transports the L2 traffic runs between the two PE routers (that is, its head starts at the imposition PE router and its tail terminates on the disposition PE router).
