Hi all,
I have some questions about inband management in ASR9K router IOS XR 4.2.0.
- How does the router control the management traffic to avoid interfering with the service traffic passing the interface? Is it controlled by policing or queuing?
- What is the difference between the above behaviour when interface is put in management plane protection and when interface is configured as default?
Thanks

Traffic directed to the router is controlled by LPTS. Have a look at "ASR9000/XR: Local Packet Transport Services (LPTS) CoPP" for more details on this:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-23032
The interface behavior difference is explained at the same URL.
