Using IOS-XR, when using line auth on the console, no username is requested and succesful login results in a limited command set.

a) once logged in, how can this user elevate themselves to a higher priv level?

b) can it be configured such that the console is logged in via line auth buth within a higher privileged group?

thanks,

Hi

You can use similar authentication etc. for console just like other lines.

Check the document -

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-15944

Also google for IOS-XR aaa configuration document.

Thanks

PArthiv

For those looking for the answer to put a line-auth'd user into a certain group as I was, configure the following within the line config:

  'users group '.
