Hi Jalal,
- sh install active summary
will enlist the currently installed packages. In IOX a feature could be enabled by a certain PIE;
- any linecard, and MPLS PIE has to be installed; please also have a look at the available licenses -

- BFD for ISIS could be enabled as part of the mini PIE;

Ivan.

Hi Ivan;
Thanks a lot for sharing this info. It was very helpful.
Here is the out put from my ASR for:
sh install active summary:
Wed Jan 18 13:59:26.735 EST
Active Packages:
disk0:
Wed Jan 18 13:59:26.735 EST
Active Packages:
disk0:comp-asr9k-mini-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-doc-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-adv-video-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-k9sec-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-mgbl-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-mcast-3.9.2
disk0:asr9k-mpls-3.9.2
As you may notice I have disk0:comp-asr9k-mini-3.9.2; so does that mean I can implement BFD for IS-IS?
Secondly, I asume that we need to have A9K-AIP-LIC-B for MPLS based L3 VPNS (VRFs). I am unable to see that under this command however, when I use another command i get the following out out put (forgot the command though):
Platform Feature ID:
A9K-ADV-OPTIC-LIC
A9K-ADV-VIDEO-LIC
A9K-iVRF-LIC
A9K-AIP-LIC-B
A9K-AIP-LIC-E
Does the above indicate that I am ready to implement VRFs? Our core ASRs have Low Queue cards (8x10G and 40x1G).

Hi Jalal,
my pleasure, let's proceed:
> As you may notice I have disk0:comp-asr9k-mini-3.9.2; so does that mean I can implement BFD for IS-IS?
a 'mini' package consists of IOS XR Unicast Routing Core Bundle, which among others provides support for IS-IS -
BFD is part of Routing component I believe -
To the license question, you showed the output of 'admin sho license features' , which is intended to show the licensable features.
the command to check all currently available licenses is this:
admin show license available
I hope that helps!
regards,
Ivan.
