IOS XR TCAM Region 3 has ran out of resources

Hello,

I am getting the following error message on an ASR 9006 router "vlan_ea[396]: %ETHER_EA-3-TCAM_REGION_OOR : Error during TCAM allocation, TCAM Region 3 has ran out of resources"

How can I check which TCAM space/region is exhausted and how to check which is the upper limit?

you can check via this command, it will print each region

 

show prm server tcam summary all all all location 0/x/CPU0

    Partition ID: 3, priority: 0, valid entries: 4096, free entries: 0

you can see free entries are 0

 

show controller np ports all location 0/1/cpu0 << check the port mapping for np0

Partition 3; is usually used for l2interfaces please check the scale

Hi

we can check show im database brief location 0/x/cpu0 , it should list all the interfaces

show controller np ports all location 0/1/cpu0 ; will show the interfaces mapped to the NPU0 which is reporting tcam full

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but i am referring to the scale of the platform. I indeed have 4096 l2transport subinterfaces. So, is this a generic scale limitation or it is only on my platform with A9K-2x100GE-TR LC?

The scale is per line card as the TCAM is on each line card.

each line card will have a different value for tcam space

Thanks for the answers. So, Is there any document that describes the partitions usage eg how did you know that the partition 3 is about l2transport interfaces? Is this documented somewhere?
