IOS-XR v5.3.n - show tech-support terminal - command unavailable

We are running into an issue where the following command does not appear to work:

RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:9006-Spare#sh tech-support terminal
                                           ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:9006-Spare#sh tech-support t? 
tacacs tcp tunnel-ip tunnel-template
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:9006-Spare#

Per the command reference for 5.3.3, it should work:

Terminal, file, and compressed / uncompressed are optional keywords (indicated by the ['s) and also not supported by every show tech (as indicated by the {'s). The default show tech does not support the terminal keyword.
