[ipv6 interface tracking]

Carlos A. Silva

Hi,

I need to track the status of a subinterface that only has ipv6 enabled on it. The problem I see is that when tracking the line-protocol state, the tracking feature seems to be following the ipv4 status.

#show track BE101
Fri Aug 20 09:20:21.902 CDT

Track BE101
Interface Bundle-Ether101.400 line-protocol
Line protocol is UP. <------
4 changes, last change 09:12:52 CDT Fri Aug 20 2021

#show run track BE101

Fri Aug 20 10:04:30.349 CDT
track BE101
type line-protocol state
interface Bundle-Ether101.400

#show ipv4 int bri | i 101
Fri Aug 20 09:20:42.626 CDT
BVI101 100.69.29.90 Up Up default
[snip]
Bundle-Ether101.400 unassigned Up Up default. <-------
[snip]

#show ipv6 int bri | i 101
Fri Aug 20 09:20:50.819 CDT
BVI101 [Up/Up]
Bundle-Ether101 [Up/Up]
[snip]
Bundle-Ether101.400 [Up/Down] <---------
fe80::200:1ff:fe01:101
[snip]

#show int be101.400
Fri Aug 20 09:21:18.319 CDT
Bundle-Ether101.400 is up, line protocol is up. <----------
Interface state transitions: 3
Hardware is VLAN sub-interface(s), address is 0000.0101.0101

Interface configuration:

interface Bundle-Ether101.400
ipv6 nd unicast-ra
ipv6 nd ra-lifetime XXXXXXXX
ipv6 nd ra mtu suppress
ipv6 nd other-config-flag
ipv6 nd managed-config-flag
ipv6 enable
service-policy type control subscriber XXXXXXXXX
load-interval 30
ipsubscriber ipv6 l2-connected
initiator dhcp
!
encapsulation ambiguous dot1q XXXXXXX second-dot1q any
!

Is there a way to track the ipv6 subinterface status only?

Thanks!

c.
