Hallo,
we are running IOS XR 6.6.3(64-bit) on an ASR 9904 with redundant RSP5 and A9K-24X10GE-1G-SE Linecards.
In order to upgrade from 6.6.3 to 7.5.2 i have to instrall 3 SMU´s
asr9k-x64-6.6.3.CSCvr47102.tar
asr9k-x64-6.6.3.CSCvu75507.tar
asr9k-x64-6.6.3.CSCvw57276.tar
According to .txt file i have to start with asr9k-x64-6.6.3.CSCvr47102.tar Install method is ISSU.
Is the following order of install commands correct?
1) install add source (this can be done outside of the maintenance window because SMU Package is copied
into SW repository on router and untared)
2)install prepare issu
3)install activate issu
4)install commit
All commands need to be done from XR VM ?
Thanks in advance
MAnfred

Hi Manfred,
if you are ok with a router reload, the easiest way is usually to extract all three files(ensure you have all the pre-req smu's as well), put them in one tar file.
copy to harddisk:
install add source harddisk:/ filename.tar <<< all 3 files will be added, non-impacting
then in a MW,
install activate id <install id from previous command>
this will perform the prep/reload in the background
Thanks
