Migrating xconnects to a different interface.

Hello everyone,

I have a requirement where it would be "ideal" to have both xconnects (current and to-be) up at the same time. I am not 100% sure on how possible this is but from my understanding it will cause issues.

Current setup:

R1 --> Core-router where xconnect command is configured --> MPLS provider router --> cloud --> Z-end.

New setup:

R1--> Core router - current xconnect--> MPLS provider router --> cloud --> Z-end.

R1--> Core router - new xconnect--> Partner router --> Z-end.

Current config:

---------------

interface TwentyFiveGigE2/0/1.100
encapsulation dot1Q 100
xconnect 172.21.1.1 1000 encapsulation mpls

Can I just add:

interface TwentyFiveGigE2/0/2.100
encapsulation dot1Q 100
xconnect 172.21.1.1 2000 encapsulation mpls

by using the same IP but different VC ID?

This is service interuption change, you need to shutdown exiting interface and make new changes required necessary where possible and bring up the service and test.
