Hi all

Can some one suggest the most stable IOS XR at the moment?

We are using 4.3.4 but the 5.3.2 has just published. We are confusing about chosing what to use

Thanks

Hi,

If you are using BNG, 5.2.4 is the recommended release. despite from that, 5.1.3 with SP5 is the most recommended release.

Thanks,

Ehsan

Once signed in you should have it available to you in the downloads section for ASR9K just like for a SMU.

Disk0 should only be used for the operating system. All other files should be stored on harddisk.

Hi Ehsan,

Can i have more questions ?

How can i have the tar file for upgrade from 4.3.4 to 5.1.3 ? This isn't free right?

I just tried to upgrade from 4.3.4 to 5.3.2 but when i (admin) install source link syn (or active). I only receive errors. It said not enough space. I repart disk0 and disk1 to 1.9G but not enough. because my disk0 to be used for something i cant remove.

Can you give me a suggestion about that?

Sorry about my poor english

Thanks

Hi,

You can find the .tar file on Cisco web site if you are eligible for it.

try to see if by issuing "admin install remove inactive" and removing inactive packages you can free up more space on hard disk. if still failed, you need to proceed with Turbo Boot.

Thanks,

Ehsan

A few months ago, we had Xander telling us that 5.2.4 was built and tested at the EMR level, but wasn't being labelled as EMR.  If that's the case, why would 5.2.4 not be recommended over 5.1.3SP5 in all cases?

5.1.3 SP5 is currently suggested as this is EMR (till 2017). Nevertheless, the next EMR (5.3.3) will be available approx. end of the year, so if updating is not an immediate concern you could wait until 5.3.3 (support until 2018/2019).
