CSCwm03493 - UCCX Support for MSSQL JDBC Driver

Hello all, we worked with Cisco to get this change request added which is marked as an enhancement request.  In a nutshell it is to update the available drivers in UCCX for making Datasource Connections for integrations to use a native Microsoft Driver for SQL Server instead of the current driver.

Has anyone heard of this being considered on the roadmap?  Who would you suggest I can reach out to within the Cisco BU to get some update if this is being considered or in development already?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Scott

It will be unlikely that this will be added to UCCX. I am not speaking for Cisco, but the message has been that CCX is pretty much frozen in time and the only changes will be focused on moving it to Alma Linux and ensuring stability. Net new features are not really going to happen.

We can’t discuss the roadmap here anyway; that requires an NDA. Your Cisco account team can facilitate a discussion with the BU though.

Just curious, but what is it that doesn't work for you with the existing driver? I haven't had to set up a new one in some time, but I have made successful connections to both MS SQL and Informix databases from the existing driver style. The caveat with MS SQL is that the MS SQL server has to be in mixed mode, and the credentials used by UCCX have to be local SQL ones.

We are asking Cisco because latest MS SQL JDBC driver is not supported by UCCX, only driver supported is sourceforge BUT sourceforge driver does not support multi subnet failover, thus Individual DataSource has to be built in UCCX and SubScripts to point to individual SQL servers.

UPDATE:  We did get feedback from the Cisco BU that it will be taken up soon, but no ETA or Firm Commitment.
