I stuck in ROMMON mode for ISR1100 4G router

Hi. I tried different  ISO image files and I used USB flash (2GB memory) to get out of ROMMON mode in my router ISR1100 4G.

I type in ROMMON mode        dir usb0: 
and then power off and power on the router, but I keep seeing this message: (Unsupported package header version (0))

You can see in the following what I got:

When you get in to ROMMOM:

if you type dir usb0:    ( do you see the file in the USB) this also bootflash:

try dir bootflash:

> boot bootflash:asrxxxx-universalk9.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.bin

i am thinking based on informaiton you may need ROMMON Upgrade. (just guess)

can you download lower version of IOS XE like 16.12.X bin file and try to boot same way you did, copy to USB and boot and let us know.

Thanks I used another image file and now I get out of ROMMON mode. Thanks a lot for that, that was a life saver.

should I now copy the ISO file in flash using commands like:

copy usb0:

I only set the username and password.

If the version of old is good and router booting, format the flash and copy the working image to boot flash:

set boot image and write the config and reboot and check it should boot normally with out ROMMON

Once that is completed, then  you need to Upgrade ROMMON, before you install 17.9.4a

Also, when I type 'boot' I get this message:

That's because the router was, initially, configured for SD-WAN and the router is booting a regular firmware (non-SD-WAN).  

My recommendation is to format the flash while in ROMMON to wipe away all SD-WAN-related files and instructions.   Boot the firmware from USB.  Copy the firmware into the flash and perform an Install Mode upgrade.  

Only when that is all done do the decision to convert the router back to SD-WAN (or not).
