Since the FCC has made us remove the requirement of dialing 9 for an outside line when calling 911, we want to remove it all together. My issue is now when we dial a local extension, we are subject to the 15 second interdigit timeout. These are my route patterns:
Local Calls: [2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX
Long Distance: 1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX
Our office extensions are 5800-5950 which of course match these route patterns. I have dialing 911 set for urgent priority which should resolve that but can I do anything to get rid of dialing 9 first?

Simply put no.

I kind of figured that, but would route filters help?

Same answer.

Thats the only option you have.
I would recommend not to use internal extension which match with outside dial plan. if not possible separate the internal and external calls by an extra digit like 9 or 0.
