Cisco Directory Connector Update failed

I am trying to update my Cisco Directory Connector from its current version 3.0.1003.64318 to what ever is the newest. I need the new features, in the newer version.

So my Cisco Directory Connector tells me this "A newer version is available. Would you like to download and update?".

I press Yes and it starts downloading package. Then goes to Stop service, and returns this error message. "Stop service failed. Cannot open CiscoDirSync service on computer ' . ' .

Is there something i need to do before i can update to newest version?

You can manually download and update.

The latest version should be here - Directory Connector

Stop Sync.

Stop CiscoDirSync service

Run Upgrade

Reboot server

Restart sync.

This worked well when i upgraded to 3.3, then the auto update to 3.4 went normal.

Is the service account that the Directory Connector runs as a local administrator?

This worked.

Thanks.

For me it worked by just manually stopping the CiscoDirSync service in the Services MMC and then running the update check again. It downloaded successfully, installed and started the CiscoDirSync Services again automatically.

Apparently no reboot required.
