Jabber 12.9 display extension

Hi There,

I am wondering if there is any way that extension number can be displayed on the Jabber application?

Kind of similar to IP Communicator, so people can see which extension number is provisioned on their jabber.

AFAIK this is only visible if you configure multiple directory numbers on the CSF profile. For some reason it has not been made visible by the Cisco BU for Jabber, or for that sake Webex if you use that to control your CSF device, when there is only one directory number configured.

That's perplexing it was not. My CC agents will have to right down their extension numbers on sticky notes

Don’t your CC agents have multiple directory numbers, one personal and another for the CC service?

no they have only one.

How do you then differentiate between calls that are destined for the CC service agent or personally to the individual? The normal de facto configuration since long time is typically to have one line that has the personal directory number that is reachable from anyone and then a second line that has the agent directory number that is reachable by CC system and the CC agents. The later is often a non DID number as it only needs to be reachable from internal sources, ie the CC service and other CC agents. This devision is made so that “regular” users can not call directly to a CC agent as that directory number isn’t reachable for them.

Apparently it’s never been the case for this particular configuration not even on desk phones.

It might be appropriate to rethink that approach if you’d need to see the directory numbers.
