Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm new to Jabber. Does Jabber really prompt for username/password even if using a directory like LDAP or AD?

Yes jabber will prompt for username and password except you have SSO enabled. That's single sign on. But once you have logged in you log in once you don't have to OK enter your username and pass again

So is SSO built in functionality in Jabber or the back-end products?

I would also like to enable this SSO so that Jabber does not prompt for userid and password each time it's started. We should be able to set it up so that it automatically logs in as the AD user who's logged into the Windows computer.
Does Cisco have documentation on how to set this up?

Hi Robert
Jabber SSO will be in Jabber 9.2, due out in the next few months.
You'll also need CUPS 9.1, or 8.6.5 to get the service that manages this.
Finally, it works using a (free) product called OpenAM that you need to deploy yourself.

Aaron
