Jabber Mac softphone 12.8 via Expressway no CTI options and no missed calls log

From the Jabber release notes:

Cisco Jabber for Mac doesn’t currently support CTI connections over transport layer security (TLS). As a result, Cisco Jabber for Mac users can’t switch from using a CSF device to using a desk phone device if they belong to the Standard CTI Secure Connection user group.

 

 

I have a C-level executive that is using Mac Jabber via MRA with Expressway.  If someone calls his laptop softphone, he does not get "missed calls" or any log of calls. There is no extension at the bottom of  Mac Jabber client  as there is with Windows Jabber.

 

Is there a fix for this yet, or a workaround?

 

Anyone else seeing this behavior?  His connections are good (green) to the sub, unity & presence. His rights are correct across devices,  phone devices are associated in proper groups, "cti gateway", etc .: Also have "user" associated with two desk phones.

Again a Windows Jabber user with the same setup has zero issues.

 

What have I missed?
