Seeking Help with DirSync Service Issue Post CUCM 14 SU3 Upgrade

Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a problem with the DirSync service in CUCM after upgrading from version 12.5 to 14 SU3. The service abruptly stops, and upon investigation with TAC, we identified the issue relates to specific characters in the 'title' field within Active Directory causing this disruption.

To address this, I've run an SQL query to identify all records in the database containing these problematic characters. Notably, one such character manifests as a right arrow in AD. My next step involves informing the AD management team about these characters to prevent future service interruptions.

Could anyone guide me to a resource or website listing characters that should be avoided in AD fields to maintain DirSync service stability?

I'd ask TAC that question as part of your ticket. They would/should have the definitive answer on this. If you do get a list, please share it!
